EDIT EDIT: Featured in DrawFriend #682...image #24
I could've done SO MUCH better. But i have to go right now. And my premium expires tommorrow.
And this was my final fling.
EDIT: K I'm back. What's ironic is that I watched How to Train Your Dragon today. ....for the umpteenth time. But this time was different! I was listening for David Tennant!! He plays Snotlout's dad (a BG character)....but I still liked hearing him. :> He had a higher voice than all the others. ...aaaaanyway....
This is a horribly rushed picture. It should burned.
The way you rendered the trees goes along really well with the figure and the whole picture looks like a whole and not just parts stuck together. I really like how the trees and the ground are not so insanely detailed that Spike doesn't look out of place-- they're rendered with just the right amount of realism mixed with stylization to give the proper effect. The shading is excellent and I really like the leaf-shaped lens flares (?if that's what they're called). The phoenix stands out brightly as it rightly should, and the whole mysterious, venturing-into-the-unknown, adventurous mood and tone of the piece is portrayed effectively.
Really cool, i love the style; it reminds me of a slightly bubbly nightmare before christmas. As far as rushing goes, it's a good way to learn how to draw under pressure, so take it as a way to improve.
What you call "horribly rushed", I call "a beautiful style". This is probably my favorite picture in your gallery now, and it's finally convinced me to toss you a Watch.
